As a single mom, my budget is always tight and I am always trying to figure out creative and thrifty ways to save money. Sometimes buying a bunch of new clothes can feel like an unnecessary expense, but not if you do it the right way!

Shein is able to stay on top of the latest fashion trends from around the globe while rapidly bringing these styles to market. So whether you're searching for boho dresses and graphic tees or patterned blouses and chic swimwear, Shein is the ultimate one-stop-shop for the modern yet economical fashionista. It aims to promptly offer stylish quality products at appealing prices to every user in the world.
Shein already offers very low and affordable prices to its customers, as well as, continual promotional discounts on their site. They even offer free shipping and returns to all of their customers.
Shein (formerly SheInside) was founded in October 2008 in Nanjung, China, with the belief that everyone can enjoy the beauty of fashion. Shein’s mission is to bring customers on-trend styles at affordable price points.
In 2012 Chris Xu, an American-born graduate of Washington University, gave up his wedding dress business to buy the domain Sheinside.com. He rebranded to Shein in 2015 with his eye on overseas markets. Today, the fast-fashion brand has websites for customers based in the United States, Spain, France, Russia, Germany, Italy, Australia, and the Middle East, with numerous globally positioned warehouses. If you’re shopping in the US you’ll see different product images and have a different user experience than a customer shopping in Japan.
Shein’s low prices are linked to a B2C business model, which goes straight from manufacturing, to the warehouse, to the customer.
Social Media Explosion
Shein’s Instagram page is apparently where all the cool kids hang out, with a jaw-dropping 22.8 million followers. More impressively, the brand’s Facebook following is over 20 million.
This Shein clothing review will scope out the brand, review some of their best-selling items, hear what customers have to say, plus fill you in on any promotions the brand offers, in order to help you decide if they’re worth the buy.
Tips for Shopping on Shein
1. Go for the top-rated products. Always check to see what is in style or most popular
2. Always read the ratings and customer reviews
3. Review the sizing measurements and what other customers say about the overall fit and sizing/quality of the products you are looking at.
Quality of Shein
One thing I have noticed from my purchases from Shein is that typically the higher-priced items I have ordered have been better quality than the less expensive ones. I am not saying that not all of the cheaper items are not good quality. Overall they are just different.
Shein recently rolled out their MOTIF Premium collection of elevated essentials made from high-end and sustainable fabrics, with a focus on quality and craftsmanship. Shein also came out with Shein X, which showcases different designers’ pieces that are higher-quality pieces, still at an affordable price.
*What is so awesome about Shein is that so many people write reviews and post photos of their purchases. This helps give a better “picture” and “expectation” of what you’re truly going to get when you make a purchase.

Shipping
Shein now ships to over 150 countries and territories worldwide. With websites supporting the United States, Spain, France, Russia, Germany, Italy, Australia, and the Middle East. Shein ships from one of its many globally positioned warehouses. Shein continues to thrive due in part to the company's values in controlling the excellence of in-house production. Shein aims to provide the highest value trendy pieces while also being dedicated to quality, value, and service.
Shein has a main warehouse in China and Hong Kong and then many fulfillment centers around the world. In the US, the main fulfillment center is in LA.
Once you place your order there are usually 2-4 days of processing time before your order is ready to ship.
Delivery ETA
If you are using standard shipping, most things take about 10 days to arrive in the US. I’ve had some items arrive in as little as 5 days (probably something that was in stock in the US fulfillment center). You can use Shein’s shipping estimator to see how long it will take. They also offer to track so you can see where your package is. The tracking info doesn’t update until the order has been processed and left the Chinese warehouse.
Tracking
After you place an order, you will receive an email confirmation when your order has been shipped, as well as, tracking information on your order.
Returns
Make sure to check each item's return policy. Some items cannot be returned, which includes intimates, swimwear, bodysuits, and some clearance items. For items that can be returned, Shein has a 45-day return policy from the date of purchase to return your item(s) for a full refund. It is always better safe than sorry to double-check and keep up-to-date on their current return policies.
*It’s important that when you are making a return to Shein to make sure to check all items that you are wanting to return all at once. If you decide later that you would like to return an additional item from that same order after a return label has already been created and sent, you will be charged a fee of $7.99 for each additional return label created.
Is Shein Safe?
Yes, Shein is a reputable Chinese fast fashion manufacturer that ships to over 220 countries around the world.
My Shein Favorites
Ps. Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved fashion. I would dress up in different outfits throughout the day that my mom had custom designed and made for me. She was amazing at sowing and would make the cutest outfits for me - from dresses, jumpsuits, overalls, jackets, to PJs and even Halloween costumes. She was extremely talented and never said no to anything I asked her to make. I remember going to Jo-Anne Fabrics with her to pick out everything from the material to the buttons and ribbon.
It’s funny how something that was so simple gave me complete joy, as a little girl. I can see now how dressing up as a little girl helped me with my confidence and self-esteem. Now as an adult I still love to dress up and just feel good about myself and what I am wearing, because it is a representation of who I am.
